IP Conference: FICCI-WIPO-DIPP on Traditional Knowledge

Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), in cooperation with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India, is organizing an International Conference on Traditional Knowledge at FICCI, New Delhi, on November 13, 2009. His Excellency Dr. Francis Gurry, Director General of WIPO will be inaugurating the Conference. The Conference will be attended by participants from across the globe, including South Africa, USA, Kenya, Mexico, Bangladesh, Australia, ARIPO, etc.
This international conference will assist stakeholders in sharing their experiences, articulate views and provide meaningful recommendations regarding 1) the State of play in the International Protection of Traditional Knowledge (TK) and Traditional Cultural Expressions (TCEs) and 2) the Effective Protection of Traditional Knowledge and Cultural Expressions: National and Community Experiences.
